Your AI readiness score runs from 0 to 100. It comes from 29 checks on what Shopify Catalog and AI assistants read from your store, in four groups: Catalog eligibility, Listing facts, Policies and pages and Crawl access. The Readiness Audit page shows every check with its result.
The formula
Score = each check’s weight × its pass rate, as a share of all the weights.
- A store check, like “Refund policy published”, counts in full when it passes, half when it’s a warning, and not at all when it fails.
- A product check, like “Every product has an image”, counts the share of products that pass. If 60 of your 100 products have a category, the category check (weight 8) contributes 4.8 of its 8.
- Checks that couldn’t run, such as product checks in a store with no products, are left out.
Only active and unlisted products are checked. Draft and archived products aren’t.
Every check and its weight
The weights add up to 122. A higher weight moves your score more.

Warnings
- About and FAQ pages pass when the page is published with at least 300 characters of text. A page that’s unpublished or very short is a warning.
- GPTBot blocked is a warning, not a failure: it’s OpenAI’s training crawler, and blocking it doesn’t remove you from ChatGPT search.
When the score updates
- Right after you install Idex.
- Every week, on its own.
- After the fixes you approve are written to your store.
- When you press Run scan on Home, Re-scan on the Readiness Audit, or Check again on Schema & AI files. Only one scan runs at a time.
Raising your score
On the Readiness Audit, every check that warns or fails has a button next to it:
- Fix Studio, for categories, attributes, descriptions, SEO titles and alt text it has drafted,
- Schema & AI files, for crawler access,
- the right page in your Shopify admin, for policies, pages, barcodes and the store password,
- the Shopify App Store, to find a reviews app,
- or a list of the products that fail, for everything else and when Fix Studio has nothing open.
Home’s Top fixes ranks what to do first by impact.
